HOPE, Arkansas - In Hempstead and Nevada Counties, law enforcement agencies say they're having great success with a drug task force aimed to crack down on illegal drugs.

"We established a zero policy for possession," said Sheriff James Singleton, Hempstead County. Within nearly two months, agents in Nevada and Hempstead Counties say they've confiscated more than 43-thousand dollars, stolen firearms, drugs paraphernalia and made 25 arrests.

"May ninth we arrested an individual for methamphetamine. That seems to be our biggest problem, methamphetamine," said Singleton.

The Eighth North Judicial task force focuses on the distribution, sale, and transportation of illegal narcotics. The task force includes deputies and police officers."Everybody in the task force is working well together. Communicating. We work well together and will continue to do so," said Singleton.
