SAMHSA announces new efforts to advance evidence-based practices for opioid use and serious mental illness

SAMHSA has released $12 million in funding to the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry to begin the effort to utilize local expertise to combat the nation’s opioid crisis.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is accepting applications for fiscal year 2018 Clinical Support System for Serious Mental Illness grants.

The purpose of this program is to provide technical assistance for the implementation and provision of evidence-based treatment and recovery support programs for individuals living with serious mental illness.

The deadline to submit a grant application is March 19, 2018.
