Starting Monday, January 11, Arkansans who need help paying their energy bills can apply for assistance.

This assistance coming from the state’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Approved applicants can get help paying for bills like gas, electric, wood, propane and more.

The Crawford-Sebastian community development council told 40/29 because of COVID-19 safety precautions it is important that you fill out your application completely.

“Put a phone number on that application where they can be reached. We’re not allowing people in. We have to do some phone interview. We may have to talk to them about something,” said Carol Jenkins, the home energy assistance program director for Crawford and Sebastian counties.

You can apply for the LIHEAP program online or by phone at your county's Community Action Agency.
