Governor announces 2018 agriculture tour, six counties in two days to meet with Arkansas farmers

Discussions to focus on export markets and rural highways, among other topics

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson will kick off his 2018 Agriculture Tour, his second, to meet with farmers in south Arkansas and to discuss a number of issues facing the state’s agriculture community.

During his 2017 tour, Governor Hutchinson visited seven counties across the eastern part of the state. This year, the Governor is scheduled to make seven stops in six counties across south Arkansas, including, among others, cattle farms, fruit orchards, and timberland sites.

The 2018 tour will begin Monday morning, August 6, 2018, in Little River County and end Tuesday afternoon, August 7, 2018 in Desha County. Topics of discussion will focus on export markets, rural highways, rural education and transformation of government.
